What if Florida had hired Kiffin? Dan Mullen suggested it, apparently

What if?

Marvel Comics used to run a book titled that.

It had all sorts of strange premises, Marvel Universe-altering events, like “What if Gwen Stacy Hadn’t Been Killed?” (you know, Peter Parker’s girlfriend, by the Green Goblin), and so on. It was just a one-book story, one part, allowing the mind to wander.

Outkick.com does that with one of its stories today.

It’s a story about former Florida coach and current broadcaster Dan Mullen, who allegedly gave the University of Florida a little advice after they let him go.

The story, by David Hookstead, can be found here: Dan Mullen Told Florida To Hire Lane Kiffin After Being Fired | OutKick.

And as usual with Hookstead’s writing, it’s a heck of a read.

This understatement, from very early in the piece: “Billy Napier was hired to replace him, and that decision has been an unmitigated disaster so far. If Florida had listened to Mullen, the program might be in a much better place.”

At any rate, the story is based on a recent interview that Mullen had with Zach Gleb. We won’t spoil it for you – go to the link and read it. It’s worth your time.
