There’s trouble for Texas wide receiver Isaiah Bond two weeks before the NFL Draft, whether he did what he’s being accused of, or not.

Bond on Thursday morning turned himself in to authorities in Frisco, Texas, and was released shortly thereafter on $25,000 bond for charges related to a warrant for sexual assault.

As this story is hitting The Football Beat Thursday evening, exact details of any allegations against Bond haven’t been made public.

Bond did release a statement.

“Regarding the accusation made against me, I would appreciate the time and opportunity to defend myself and prove the claims made, patently false. I am in full cooperation with the authorities and will remain a willing and active participant in the investigation. Unfortunately, claims like these prove to be harmful to all involved, absent full review. I kindly request that all reserve judgement until the authorities provide a complete report based on truth and evidence,” Bond said through the release.

Bond played two seasons at Alabama, where he had 65 catches for 888 yards and five scores. and this past season at Texas, where he had 34 catches for 540 yards and five touchdowns. He is likely best known for his touchdown catch, while at Alabama, against Auburn (in Auburn) on fourth down and 31, a throw made by Jalen Milroe that helped Alabama beat their archrival in the game’s final moments.

Bond’s statement was released on various forms of social media.
