South’s Gonna Do It Again: Can Georgia hold off ‘Bama, Tennessee, LSU?

SEC Preview

University of Georgia tight end Brock Bowers appeared to draw the biggest crowd of media at SEC Media Days in Nashville for his brief question-and-answer session back on July 18.

Bowers, a big, strong kid who might very well be the next great NFL tight end (think along the lines of George Kittle, Travis Kelce and that ilk), has one more season in Athens, and if he can be a part of a championship run, especially a national championship run, Bowers will be considered arguably the second-best player in Georgia history (nobody will every top Hershel Walker, no matter how many Senate races the latter participates in).

Bleacher Report’s Morgan Moriarty is back again, this time with an SEC preview (https://bleacherreport.com/articles/10087166-sec-football-preview-and-predictions-for-the-2023-season), and Bowers – who is listed among the league’s biggest stars by Moriarty – isn’t a question at all, of course. The biggest is what Georgia, and Alabama, will do at quarterback.

Moriarty also puts Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz and Texas A&M head man Jimbo Fisher squarely on the hot seat before either coach has even coached a single down in 2023.
