The Seattle Seahawks are headed into their bye week with a win, and made the New York Giants and their fans even more miserable after another dreadful offensive performance on ABC’s “Monday Night Football.”

Seattle overcame what looked to be an injury to starting quarterback Geno Smith, led 14-3 at halftime and pitched a shutout in the second half for a 24-3 win at MetLife Stadium on Monday (Rookie Devon Witherspoon scores on 97-yard pick six as Seahawks D leads Seattle over Giants). Seattle moves to 3-1 with the win, and is off, as mentioned, this weekend.

The Giants, meanwhile, have only the one win this season, their comeback win at Arizona.

Of course, they didn’t have running back Saquon Barkley for the game, still out after the injury in that Arizona win.

One of the Seahawks’ biggest plays – what appeared to be a 75-yard touchdown run by Kenneth Walker III – was called back when replay reviewed that Walker’s elbow and posterior were down on the turf. The running back appeared to have spun out of a tackle and scored, as most everyone on the field, including the officials, slowed on the play, thinking Walker was down. Replay reviewed he was, in fact, down, and the touchdown was nullified.

But a 97-yard interception return for a score by rookie defensive back Devon Witherspoon wasn’t called back, and the Seahawks set a new team record with 11 sacks in a single game on New York quarterback Daniel Jones, who went 27-of-34 for 203 yards and the interception, and ran for 66 yards on 10 carries.

The Giants will visit Miami (3-1) this Sunday at noon Central time, televised on FOX.
