How’s Kyler Murray’s surgically-repaired knee, after he tore his right anterior cruciate ligament late last season?

Well, we’re all about to find out.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback, who tore that ACL last week 14 against the New England Patriots, will start on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons, coach Jonathan Gannon said on Monday (Cardinals QB Kyler Murray to start Sunday if no setbacks), if there are no setbacks this week.

Murray will take all the first team reps in practice this week, the first-year coach said, although he warned that Murray might not look exactly like he did before he went away – after all, he hasn’t played in darn near a year.

“We got to be willing to understand that it might not look like Kyler,” Gannon said. “And I think he’s got a good expectation of that. The coaches have a good expectation of that, but I know this: He’s going to come out there and play his game and help us win.”

The quarterback who started the season for the Cardinals – Joshua Dobbs – was actually traded to Minnesota, has replaced the injured Kirk Cousins (who tore his Achilles tendon a couple of weeks ago in the fourth quarter against Green Bay), and will start for the Vikings this week. Murray came back to practice mid October, and won’t have a couple of weapons: tight end Zach Ertz and wide receiver Michael Wilson are both injured. The Cardinals will get running back James Conner back off of injured reserve this week.
