Here’s the University of Texas Band performing “The Eyes of Texas” (The Eyes of Texas (youtube.com)).

And they’re upon you. You cannot get away.

It’s a pretty catchy song.

There’s a new member of the Longhorn community. Maybe you’ve heard of him. His name is Arch Manning. He was the third-string quarterback of the Longhorns’ football program.

But with Maalik Murphy transferring to Duke, Manning is now number two, behind starter Quinn Ewers, as the Longhorns (12-1) prepare to play in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 against Washington, in the semifinals of the College Football Playoff (Freshman Manning ascends to backup QB for No. 3 Texas with Murphy in transfer portal).

Texas coach Steve Sarkisian is confident that if Manning enters the game, he can get the job done.

“He’s more than capable of playing really good football for us,” Sarkisian said. “I think the opportunity that he had to play here against Tech showed what he’s capable of, and we’ll get him prepared to play. I joked with him the other day, ‘You’re not really a freshman anymore. This is your sophomore year now.’”
