The hits just keep on coming for the New York Jets.

Cornerback Sauce Gardner has been ruled out of Sunday’s home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gardner was ruled out on Saturday, and apparently has a concussion, ESPN.com reported.

That means that the Jets, who already lost starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers and tackle Alijah Vera-Tucker for the season, will have to face the unbeaten Eagles (5-0) without Gardner and D.J. Reed, both their starting corners. Reed also has a concussion.

In addition, another defensive back, Brandin Echols, is out with a hamstring.

The Jets moved Craig James (no, not THAT one) up from the practice squad on Saturday, and Bryce Hall, who returned a Russell Wilson fumble for the game-winning touchdown last week in Denver.

It was the Jets’ second win of the season. They’re 2-3, all without Rodgers, who was injured on the team’s fourth play from scrimmage in the season opener against Buffalo – a game the Jets went on to win.

Gardner was the 2022 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, and said on X/Twitter that he didn’t feel concussed, but nevertheless is out. “I feel perfectly fine. That’s the crazy part about it,” he wrote.
