“Brian’s Song” it ain’t (Brian’s Song 1971 Trailer | James Caan | Billy Dee Williams).

But there is an update on the condition of Colorado defensive back/ wide receiver Travis Hunter, who was injured on a wicked hit in the game against Colorado State, and missed last Saturday’s game against Oregon with a lacerated liver.

Hunter was playing wide receiver on a play and was blasted by Blackburn near the sidelines, and obviously, did not get up. Hunter would return to the game, but later that night was taken to a medical facility, and has been recovering since.

The vitriol toward Blackburn for the hit was backlash like college football hasn’t seen in a while. It’s mentioned in the above article, but Blackburn even got death threats after the play.

The update: a bit of a shocker. Hunter and Henry Blackburn, the Colorado State defender who made the hit that initially injured Hunter, have apparently made peace.

At least enough to go bowling together.

In a scene straight from a movie script, Hunter and Blackburn have became friends, and are hanging out together (Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Colorado State’s Henry Blackburn make peace by going bowling).

Hunter, who had voiced his desire to play this weekend in the Buffaloes’ home game against top-10-ranked Southern Cal, was turned down by coach Deion Sanders for precautionary measures. But Hunter will likely be back soon.
