Dak Prescott is moving up on the NFL’s best passer list in 2023.

The Washington Commanders are moving down – as in, down the NFC ladder.

And the Dallas Cowboys are getting fat – fat on the NFL’s worst teams, as they ran their record to 8-3 with a 45-10 win over Washington on Thursday afternoon, their third straight win.

Dallas’s last three wins have been over the New York Giants, the Carolina Panthers and now Washington, three teams that won’t be confused with the Philadelphia Eagles or Kansas City Chiefs.

It was the Cowboys’ 13th straight home win, their longest home winning streak in 42 years.

Prescott went 22-of-32 for 331 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers: KaVontae Turpin, CeeDee Lamb (four catches for 53 yards and the touch), Brandin Cooks (four for 72 yards and the touch), and Rico Dowdle (one for a 15-yard score).

DaRon Bland had an interception return for a touchdown, his fifth this season.

The Cowboys managed to stay, sort of, with the Eagles: they’re two games behind the Eagles in the NFC East. The Eagles are 9-1, but still play this weekend (they host Buffalo on Sunday). Dallas will be back in action next Sunday at home against Seattle.

Washington drops to 4-8, dangerously close to being out of the playoff race with five games left, and hosts Miami next Sunday.
