It’s not catastrophic, but – well, it actually might very well be catastrophic.
The Dallas Cowboys lost one of their very best players on Thursday. The franchise announced that cornerback Trevon Diggs was likely lost for the season with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee.
Todd Archer, ESPN’s staff writer that normally handles coverage of the Cowboys, reported Thursday (Cowboys star CB Trevon Diggs suffers torn ACL – ESPN) that Diggs suffered the injury that day in practice in a one-on-one drill, then had an MRI shortly after, and was diagnosed with the injury.
ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter also reported that Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz was injured Thursday, a hamstring injury, and was to undergo an MRI, as well, although a source apparently told Schefter that Biadasz’s injury wasn’t severe.
Diggs has been a godsend since being drafted by the franchise in 2020. This year, Diggs has an interception, six tackles, three pass break-ups and a forced fumble.
