So we’re back to the days of the early 1990s, where the Colts and the Patriots were the drudge of the NFL, and always drafting in the top three?
Surely not.
The two played a less-than-tremendously-exciting game earlier today in Frankfurt, Germany, ending with the Indianapolis Colts taking a 10-6 win over the New England Patriots (Mac Jones and the offense comes up flat again as Patriots lose to Colts, 10-6, in Germany).
The Colts, of course, are playing without injured starting rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, drafted in April and proclaimed the starter, but gone for the year with an injured shoulder. The Patriots? Well, who knows, although it appears coach Bill Belichick plans to stick with Mac Jones, although perhaps it’s not absolutely inconceivable the franchise might go in a different direction if Belichick retired after the season.
Indianapolis improved to 5-5 with the win; New England fell to 2-8 with the loss. The Patriots will likely re-evaluate things this week, their bye week, and the Colts are also off this week.
