The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back defensive end Charles Omenihu.

The 27-year-old has agreed to re-sign with KC on a one-year deal for $7 million, The Football Beat’s sources say.

Omenihu, who was drafted by the Houston Texans and spent two seasons (2021, 2022) in San Francisco, has been with the Chiefs since the 2023 season (so two years).

He missed the first six games of his tenure with the Chiefs because he was serving a personal conduct suspension for a misdemeanor domestic assault arrest in California. He finished with seven sacks in the 2023 season before being injured in the AFC title game that year against Baltimore, a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).

He made it back to play six regular season games and three playoff games in 2024, and finished with two sacks.

In his seven seasons, in 78 games, Omenihu has 101 total tackles, 62 of them solo, 19 ½ sacks, and six forced fumbles. Obviously, he won a Super Bowl with Kansas City as a part of the 2023 season.
