The Buffalo Bills need a win Thursday night.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers need a win Thursday night.

Both teams are coming off losses headed into tonight’s game, streamed live on Amazon Prime – here’s the Associated Press’ preview of the game: Buffalo Bills host the Tampa Buccaneers in prime-time matchup of two sluggish offenses).

Buffalo allowed New England to get its second win of the year last week, and coach Sean McDermott and his team may really regret that down the stretch, as they’re competing with Miami – a team they’ve already beaten – for the AFC East Division crown.

The Bills dropped to 4-3 with the loss.

Buffalo does have three defensive starters out of the lineup. But safety Micah Hyde said no one at Orchard Park is panicking.

“What is it, Week 8? Still a very long season and a lot of ball to be played. We’re confident in our abilities to go out there and stay together and get some wins,” Hyde said.

And Tampa (3-3), after a hot start, has lost three of its last four games, including a 16-13 close one at home to the Atlanta Falcons. Tampa tied the game at 13, but Atlanta, with help of a 39-yard pass, got into position so that Younghoe Koo could hit a 51-yard field goal.

“We’re just so close,” Mayfield said this week. “I’m getting tired of saying that, but it’s the truth when you go back and watch it.”
