Do the kids still say, “OMG?”

We may ALL be saying “OMG” if this deal goes down.

In the latest from the world of the GOAT (that would be the “greatest of all time” definition of the GOAT, not the version that some of us grew up with, where the goat was the individual who cost us the game, or the season), retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady declared this week that he would not be opposed to resuming his playing career if the timing and location were right.

Did you read what I wrote?

Brady, the greatest winner at the quarterback position the league has ever seen, said this week that he was not opposed to an NFL return (Tom Brady says he’s ‘not opposed’ to a late-season NFL return).

The former New England and Tampa Bay quarterback, who won seven Super Bowls, was asked by Vic Blends in the “Deep Cut” podcast released on Thursday if a team called him in the event of an injury, would he answer.

The example Blends gave was where the San Francisco 49ers needed a quarterback just before the postseason – and Blends also used the Las Vegas Raiders and a team familiar to Brady, the Patriots, as examples.

Brady is from the San Francisco area and grew up a 49ers fan.

“I’m not opposed to it,” Brady said. “I don’t know if they are going to let me if I become an owner of an NFL team. I’m always going to be in good shape. I’ll always be able to throw the ball. So, to come in for a little bit, like MJ [Michael Jordan] coming back, I don’t know if they would let me. But I wouldn’t be opposed to it.”

The ownership note to which Brady referred was his agreement with Mark Davis, the owner of the Raiders, to become a part of that franchise’s ownership, but the deal is pending, based on thumbs-up from the league.

Brady is 46 years old and has been out of the game for two seasons. He’s supposed to become a game analyst (at least we think that’s his role) for the FOX NFL broadcasts in just a couple of months.

In his career – staggering numbers, of course – Brady completed 7,753 passes in 12,050 attempts (64.3 percent) for 89,214 yards (7.4 yards per completion), 649 touchdowns, and 212 interceptions.

Will there be more added to that total? Stay tuned.
