What happens inside the walls of an NFL franchise when they fall to 2-8?
“We’ll look at everything,” New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick said, in his weekly meeting with the media on Monday, the first such lengthy meeting after the Patriots’ 10-6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt, Germany last Sunday. “We’ll look at everything across the board.”
Needless to say, the spotlight is squarely on the quarterback position, where Mac Jones, who has thrown a league-leading 10 interceptions this season (tied for the lead, anyway) has been less than stellar, but the Patriots seem to have a myriad of problems.
And apparently, it has Belichick saying, and thinking, a complete, total evaluation is necessary (Bill Belichick hints at changes to Patriots’ roster: ‘We’ll look at everything’).
The fact that the Patriots are last in the AFC East seems to be the least of their problems – this appears to be more than just one bad season.
As pointed out in that link, the Patriots are averaging 14 points a game.

They’re also only converting on third down 35 percent of the time.
“There are things that we can build off of,” Belichick said. “We’re certainly doing a lot of things better than we did earlier in the year. But, it doesn’t take much to stop a drive or to have a bad play.”
Jones was yanked from the field in favor of backup Bailey Zappe after going 15-of-20 for 170 yards.
