Beck transferring to Miami

Everyone can stop wondering. We now know the next stop for former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck.

It’s the University of Miami.

Miami had been the rumored destination for Beck, who was injured in the Southeastern Conference Championship Game on Dec. 7 in Atlanta against Texas. The Bulldogs went on to win the game, the SEC Championship and make the College Football Playoff. Beck didn’t.

The former Bulldogs’ QB1 had to have surgery on his throwing arm to repair a UCL injury, and when everyone expected Beck to make the announcement that he was headed to the NFL Draft, he did.

Except he’s not.

Word got out on Wednesday that Beck changed his mind, likely figuring his NFL Draft stock was not as good as it was before the 2024 season. He instead entered the transfer portal. And now we know, he’ll be a Hurricane, replacing Cam Ward, who – ironically – will likely be a top-five pick in the draft in April.

Beck completed 290-of-448 passes in 2024, for 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, the 13th-most overall yards in the nation.
