With the release of the Associated Press poll on Monday, we thought you might like a refresher on the coaches poll.
You know – since it feels like it’s been months since it’s been out.
The top five in both polls are the exact freakin’ same: coach Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs are No. 1 in both. Ohio State is No. 2 – in both. Oregon is third – in both. Get the idea?
Coach Steve Sarkisian, who told us at SEC Media Days that “being 5-7 in Austin, Texas sucks,” is No. 4, and Alabama, with a new head coach for the first time since 2007, is ranked fifth.
Ole Miss and Notre Dame are sixth and seventh in both polls, respectively, and in the coaches’ poll, Michigan is eighth, and Penn State, ninth (they’re flip-flopped in the AP poll).
Florida State is No. 10 in both polls, ahead of this weekend’s trip to Ireland to face Georgia Tech in the one major game this weekend, the Aer Lingus Kickoff Classic, a noon Eastern time kick on ESPN.
Missouri is 11th in both polls; LSU is No. 12 in the coaches, 13 in the AP, and Utah is 12 in the AP, 13 in the coaches.
Clemson is 14 in both. Tennessee is 15 in both.
