Three guesses who won’t throw at the Combine?

USC quarterback Caleb Williams (above) is expected to attend the NFL's annual scouting combine in Indianapolis on Saturday, but won't work out. The combine actually begins Thursday and airs live on the NFL Network. Read the story below for the complete schedule. (Photo courtesy of SPORTSKEEDA).

To borrow a phrase from a song from a famous kids show, which of these things is not like the other?

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy, Oregon quarterback Bo Nix and Washington quarterback Michael Penix all plan on throwing at the NFL Combine.

Guess who doesn’t?

That’d be Southern Cal quarterback and 2022 Heisman Trophy-winner Caleb Williams, whom – depending on what you believe – has thrown around (or whose representation have thrown around) threats about what franchises he will / won’t play for in the last few months, and what he will / won’t do when it comes to the draft in April.

Also not planning to throw: current Heisman Trophy-winner Jayden Daniels, the quarterback from Louisiana State University.

By the way, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network gets credit for these reports.

Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers all compete on Saturday at the event, which, of course, is once again at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the home of the Indianapolis Colts. The event is from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Central Standard time, and airs on NFL Network.

It actually begins on Thursday with defensive linemen and linebackers (noon until 6 p.m.). Friday is defensive backs and tight ends (same times). Saturday we’ve covered, and Sunday is offensive linemen (10 a.m. until 3 p.m.).

If you happen to be in the Indianapolis area and want to go, you can – it’s general admission, and the NFL’s clear bag policy is in effect (no, we’re not kidding).
