It was big, it was in Big D, for the first time ever, and somehow, it’s already been a year ago.
The Southeastern Conference’s first-ever media days event in Dallas was held last July, with then-new members Texas and Oklahoma, of course, the centerpiece of the Metroplex’s media attention. That held true, to be sure, and that’s understandable with two of the biggest names throughout the tradition of college football in the Southwest suddenly thrown into the volatile SEC.
But with all of that star power — Georgia, Alabama, LSU, and so on — already in college football’s marquee league, stirring the Sooners and Longhorns into the stock pot just gave us ready-made TV for years and years to come.
The Football Beat, and just about every other football-related media outlet, was there, as it all unfolded, and as SEC media days comes barreling over the horizon again in Atlanta on July 14-18, we thought we’d share these scenes with you from Big D, through the lens of our own Jenna Hagler.
By the way, at this writing, kickoff to the college football season is 53 days away. Just FYI. 🙂
