Looks like the San Francisco 49ers will have running back Christian McCaffrey Monday night at Minnesota when they play their seventh game of the season.
But they won’t have wide receiver / running back Deebo Samuel, out with a shoulder injury, and they might not have left tackle Trent Williams, who’s listed as doubtful.
The game airs on ABC and kicks off at 7:15 p.m.
All three 49ers were injured last week in a 19-17 loss at Cleveland. McCaffrey scored a first-half touchdown, suffered an apparent oblique injury, then tried to come out and play in the second half, but couldn’t go and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. McCaffrey practiced on Saturday, according to 49erswebzone.com, and is officially listed as questionable for the Vikings game. ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter reported Sunday that McCaffrey is likely to play.
Williams, a player many regard as the best left tackle in football, injured an ankle in Cleveland and over the last week, has been limping (after wearing a boot right after the injury). Williams came back into the game against Cleveland and played following the injury.
Williams is listed as doubtful for the game at Minnesota. If that’s the case, Jaylon Moore will take Williams’ spot in the lineup – 49erswebzone also reported that Moore took all the starting reps this past week in practice.
Regarding Samuel, who is also a game-changer like McCaffrey, it’s been reported that Samuel has a hairline fracture in his shoulder, and he’s likely to miss not just Monday’s game at Minnesota, but likely Sunday’s home game against Cincinnati. The 49ers have their bye week the following week (Nov. 5).
San Francisco is 5-1 this season and leads the Seattle Seahawks by a game in the NFC West Division. The Vikings are 2-4, but are 0-3 at home.
