Going on the road to beat Baltimore in Baltimore would have been a tall task for Houston Texans rookie head coach Demeco Ryans and his young team.
They weren’t able to do it.
Lamar Jackson was back in the lineup at quarterback for the Ravens, and they won their season opener at home over the Texans, and here’s the recap: Ravens beat Texans 25-9, but will be without running back J.K. Dobbins for the rest of the season (msn.com).
There were all kinds of different things surrounding this AFC matchup.
For one, Houston rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud has the unique distinction of completing his very first NFL pass that counted, to himself (Houston rookie C.J. Stroud’s first NFL completion was a pass to himself | FOX Sports).
And there’s more weirdness.

Of more interest might be the note that J.K. Dobbins suffered a likely season-ending knee injury (Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins suffers season-ending torn Achilles in opener as 4 starters exit with injuries (msn.com).
Just a rough day for Dobbins, and here at thefootballbeat.com, it’s always hard for us to hear that.
