Turnovers doom Arizona in loss to Washington

Not that the Washington Commanders are world-beaters – not anything remotely like that.

But did anyone expect the Arizona Cardinals, without quarterback Kyler Murray, to give Washington a game? I can tell you I did not. At least, not a four-point game.

No offense, Arizona.

So I was engrossed in the 49ers-Steelers game, and others, and noticed the Commanders-Cardinals score. It was practically over by the time I saw it.

My apologies, Arizona fans.

At any rate, Washington held off Arizona, is how I’ll put it, 20-16, on Sunday at FedEx Field.

Associated Press writer Stephen Whyno had this report: Howell bounces back and the defense takes over to help Commanders rally past Cardinals 20-16 (msn.com).

A turnover by Arizona quarterback Josh Dobbs on a strip-sack by Montez Sweat led to Washington’s go-ahead touchdown, and another turnover helped the Commanders seal the victory.

Wow, I still cannot get used to calling them the Commanders.

That, by the way, was also the first win in the new ownership of the franchise, since Daniel Snyder sold it to the group led by Josh Harris.
