It began last week, technically, but only in small scale.

Saturday, it’s everybody in the pool.

The 2023 season is completely, totally, 100 percent under way this weekend, unless you happen to be LSU and Florida State, I guess. They get to wait one more day, and kick off on Sunday in Florida.

Here (https://www.espn.com/college-football/schedule) courtesy of our hard-working friends at ESPN (probably an underpaid intern), is the schedule for the remainder of the weekend in college football, and pictured is the prize that everyone is playing to capture: the College Football Playoff national championship trophy.

For the record, beginning next week, our staff will be making picks on who we think will come out on top in 15 games. I know you’ll be waiting with baited breath to see our selections when they hit the website every Thursday.

What is baited breath, anyway? Good Lord, the implications of that…
