Colin Cowherd seems to think that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is a flash in the pan.

Or not very good.

Or something like that.

Just ask Cowherd. He’ll tell you (The Herd | “Not a Purdy sight’ 49ers loss 3 game straight, facing Jaguars – Colin Cowherd reacts)

We love Cowherd here at TFB. Seriously, we do. We hardly ever miss his show. Especially our editor / publisher, Mitch Lucas – has listened to “Uncle Colin” for years.

But we think he’s wrong on this one.

Purdy, who had a perfect passer rating against Tampa Bay last week, looked ‘purdy’ darn good against Seattle on Thanksgiving night, going 21-of-30 for 209 yards and a touchdown to Brandon Aiyuk in a 31-13 win over the Seahawks that put the 49ers two games up on their biggest rival in the NFC West Division race.

Yes, Purdy also threw an interception that was returned for a touchdown by Jordyn Brooks, but in the first half, the Niners built a 24-3 lead that Seattle couldn’t overcome.

The result: San Francisco is now 8-3, leads the NFC West and is just two games behind Philadelphia for the overall best record in the NFC, tied with Detroit and Dallas. And they would own the tiebreaker over the Cowboys, by virtue of that blowout head-to-head win.

They’ll get a chance to prove how they match up against the Eagles next week – because they’re going to Philadelphia to play them next Sunday.

As for Seattle (6-5), they’re headed to Arlington, Texas to face the Cowboys.
